One might assume that celebrity residences are highly coveted, but this apartment apparently proves that that’s not necessarily true. Ben Stiller and his wife, Christine Taylor, had been trying to sell their duplex-apartment at 110-118 Riverside Drive for nearly 10 months before they were finally able to offload it two weeks ago.

Ben initially placed the apartment on the market with a $9.6 million price tag back in August of last year. With no buyer in sight, he dropped the price to $9.3 million this February and finally sold it for $8.995 million. That’s roughly a million dollars less than he paid for it back in 2008, when he purchased the pad for $10 million.

Whatever the reason for the sluggish sale, it apparently isn’t the apartment itself. The spectacular 4,000 square-foot duplex apartment has ten rooms, with five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms. Being on the 17th floor and right on Riverside Drive, it has beautiful views of the Hudson River.

Even though Ben spends a lot of time in New York City shooting movies, including his upcoming film, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” we’re not aware of any new apartment Ben is holding down. But we do know he owns a mansion in Hawaii and another beautiful mansion on the Studio City side of Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles.
