Murray Hill Manor, situated at 166 East 34th Street in the Gramercy Park area, is a large Post-war high-rise edifice that was erected by the Zucker Organization and designed by Philip Birnbaum & Associates. Standing 21 floors high, the building is home to 218 apartments.
It is designed to have 11 apartments per floor. All the apartments display typical pre-war details like hardwood floors, high ceilings, and over-sized windows. Since being renovated, the apartments boast even more modernized design and finishes, including the kitchens’ blond maplewood cabinetry with granite countertops and ceramic tile flooring. This part of each unit also has a dishwasher and other necessary stainless steel appliances. Several upper-floor apartments have wood-burning fireplaces. Now the apartments have thermopane windows and there is a new security system as well.
166 East 34th Street also provides a few other amenities including a landscaped roof deck, fireplaces, a laundry room, an attended garage, and valet service. It is also equipped with a high-speed Internet connection. For additional assistance, there is a 24-hour doorman, concierge and live-in superintendent.
It is also close to a great many restaurants, schools, and other famous landmarks. There is only one subway line nearby, the #6 line. Bus transportation however, can also be accessed, although it is usually slower than traveling by subway.
