West Coast is a luxury New York rental located in the West Village. The building was erected in 1987 to combine with a neighboring building that was built in 1900. Designed by Avinash K. Malholtra, West Coast features an orange and tan brick facade with a pitched center roofline and a Herman Zimmerman Architects–designed pergola. The building also offers a revolving door with a canopied entrance, inset pilasters and spherical wall scones. The two buildings share a central courtyard with an unusual landscaped mountain feature. The mid-rise spans eight floors and contains 159 apartments, all of which are easily accessible via elevator.
Apartments at West Coast were designed in keeping with the prewar apartments in the adjacent building, so although they are thoroughly modern in construction, they offer many prewar design elements. Prewar design elements include the high ceilings, gorgeous exposed brick walls, and romantic fireplaces. The apartments have sophisticated hardwood flooring and spacious closets. They also feature lovely private terraces. Kitchens are dishwasher equipped and have elegant wooden cabinetry, while marble bathrooms offer luxurious soaking tubs and stainless steel fixtures.
West Coast is designed to feel like home. The building and apartments feature a spacious and comfortable feeling. The necessities are provided without any of the pomp and circumstance of some buildings. There is a concierge to see to residents’ needs any time of day. There is also an on-site laundry facility, and residents can enjoy the spectacular river and city views from the roof terrace.
West Coast enjoys a central West Village location. The building is near many options for shopping, dining and nightlife. There is also nearby public transportation.
