Just last week, we reported that Ethan Hawke had sold his Chelsea townhouse, which was listed for $6.25 million. Now we know where the road is heading for Ethan. He just picked up a townhouse in Boerum Hill for $3.9 million, Real Estalker reports. So if he sold his Chelsea townhouse for anywhere near the listing price, he should have a little over $2 million for renovation. Looking at the pictures, however, it seems hardly necessary since the place had a complete overhaul back in 2003, which included new wiring and plumbing. Like his Chelsea townhouse, this one is colorful, with an even larger garden, and fireplaces in almost every room.

The Greek Revival–style red-brick townhouse, which was built in 1859, has 4,026 square feet—500 square feet more than his previous townhouse. Ethan gets six bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and one half-bathroom. One similarity to his last townhouse is the unit allocation. Both are separated into more than one unit. This one has a large five-bedroom unit and a smaller one-bedroom unit.

So what else does the townhouse have to offer? It has beautiful, ornate crown moldings and medallions, wide plank flooring, pocket doors with stained glass, hand-crafted landmark-approved windows, beautiful original woodwork, and marble mantels on the five working fireplaces.

The building is located at 247 Dean Street in Boerum Hill, a neighborhood in the northwestern portion of Brooklyn. Actually, the Boerum Hill Historic District is a national historic district with 238 row houses in a Greek Revival or Italianate style. It all sounds like a very nice exchange for Ethan’s Chelsea townhouse, provided he won’t mind not living in Manhattan anymore.
