Schumacher Penthouse Hits the Market for $23M

Noho’s latest superstar, the Schumacher at 36 Bleecker Street, just listed its first penthouse, PHB, for $23 million. The Schumacher, which is currently hidden under netting while being restored by star architect Morris Adjimi, is getting surprisingly more buzz than expected. Douglas Elliman’s John Gomes, who’s co-leading the marketing team for the Schumacher, told the Real Deal that the Schumacher “is going to be the new billionaires club.” So, is One57’s title as New York City’s latest billionaires club in danger? Most likely not, but the apartments, which range from $3.75 million to $25 million, are obviously selling like hotcakes. 

There’s no surprise with all the current buzz that Elliman has thrown the first penthouse onto the market. Tomorrow, Sunday, the first open house for the unit is being held at an unorthodox showroom at 135 Crosby Street where all the replicated art resembles a gallery more than a sales office.

The penthouse will have 4,546 square feet, four bedrooms, and four and a half baths. The listing unveils features like 13’ ceilings, a “breathtaking upper level with entertaining lounge and terraces” that feature an outdoor shower. It’ll also have a “jaw-dropping master bedroom suite in which the magnificent vaulted ceilings reach approximately 16 feet.” The listing goes on to describe a 24-foot entry gallery, which connects to a great room that’s equipped with a fireplace and flooded by sunlight. Other highlights include an oversized walk-in closet, a massive windowed dressing room and master bathroom, and a private elevator.

As impressive and exciting as the description reads, we expect that it will sell equally fast.
