The record-setting prices all started when 15 Central Park West sold its penthouse for a record $88 million in 2012. That number sounded unreal back then, but One57 easily surpassed it by selling its penthouses for roughly $90 and $100 million.
The Heritage at Trump Place, 240 Riverside Drive, already has three penthouses on the market that range from $17.5 million up to $35.495 million. Judging by the price they must be extravagant, but none of them comes even close to the newly listed penthouse.
One Eleven Murray Street—being developed by Fisher Brothers and The Witkoff Group—just released their teaser site. All indications are that it’s going to unleash its apartments to the market soon. The condominium development will contain 139 apartments covering 66 floors, with an average unit comprising 2,627 square feet. Unit designs will range from studios up to five-bedroom apartments. The building will have a total of 365,162 square feet of residential floor space.
The Durst Organization, the developer, apparently feels more than comfy on the block between 11th and 12th Avenues, bounded by 57th and 58th Streets. It all started with The Helena, the rental building that opened in 2005. Durst continued next to the Helena with New York City’s very first pyramid—or, as the designer likes to call it, a tetrahedron. It is nearing completion and should open its doors with 709 rental units sometime this year.
Jennifer Lopez has snatched up a luxury penthouse at 21 East 26th Street for $20.16 million. Public records reveal that the buyer was covered by an LLC, but the Daily News reports that the Bronx-born superstar is the actual buyer.

Thankfully, it’s a pet-friendly building, so her seven cute little doggies won’t have to miss her while she’s staying in New York City.
The very fact that the 47th-floor-apartment belongs to Gisele Bundchen and her husband Tom Brady makes the beautiful views through its floor-to-ceiling windows, the four large bedrooms covering over 3,310 square feet, and the jaw-dropping bathroom all the more stunning. The supermodel/quarterback couple are asking $40,000 a month for the luxury apartment—or $42,500 furnished. The couple bought the suite just a year ago for $14 million.
